About me

Emanuele Santanche

Hi there,

My name is Emanuele Santanché.

I am a leadership coach for technology.

I improve your chances of success in making smart technological choices.

I help you develop leadership practices that improve motivation, productivity and problem solving skills.

Whether your organisation is built on advanced technology or has to adapt to it, I can help you.

How did I get here?

I put my hands on a computer first time when I was a teen. I loved to make it work. It’s when motivation is at its best. When I want to learn about motivation and how to improve it, I know that my teenage experience is my best teacher.

I have written my own database management system because I wasn’t satisfied with the ones that were available at the time.

I have written code I couldn’t test before I put it in production. It means I knew I had made a mistake only when the code was running and could cause important damage. To fix the code, I had 15 minutes only.

I have done everything: database administration, development, testing, project management, production monitoring and devops.

I have worked in Rome, Milan, Paris, Saclay (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique, The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission), Camberley (UK) and London.

I have written software for Intel Corporation.

I have built an application that used patented technologies.

I have encountered management based on fear, environments where power wars and conflicts were more important than results, and many other dysfunctions that make it harder to get results.

What is the most critical factor of success? It’s the network of people, processes and things that influences the way work gets done. It’s how this network is organised and the quality of the relationships between people. Nothing to do with software or technology.

Get the organisation wrong and you reduce motivation, the ability to solve problems and quality. You may even have to throw everything away and restart from scratch.

Most working environments use forms of organisation that are obsolete and inadequate, and that will reduce the chances of success.

My passion

It makes me happy when I see a company survive and thrive thanks to my help. There are a lot of ideas worth saving out there and it feels good to see people build a good working environment that will more likely make those ideas flourish.

It’s nice to see people embrace a sane way to work that will bring better results.

I’m here waiting for you so that we can walk a path of change together.

Emanuele

P.S. You find me on LinkedIn and GitHub. Thanks to modern technology, you can talk with me over the internet. You can come to see me in Paris, I will be your tour guide.

Let’s have a chat, send me a message.
